The original fixture for Feb 6th 2022 was to be Clarke Gardens hosted by Liverpool District as a championship race, this has now been pushed back to March 6th, to be replaced in the calendar by Clarke Gardens hosted by the NWSunday League, a postponed fixture from October 2021.
Storms have done their fair share of damage to this course in recent years and last minute adjustments once more, to the already adjusted course to dodge some more felled trees, just added to the technical nature of the woodland half our a superb merseyside event.
A morning where nobody could decide what temperature or precipitation type/intensity would ensue brought an array of kit accessories across the field with only the hardiest sticking to shorts & vest.
The mens team produced 4 runners (plus guest*), Kevin walker took his assumed post to lead the club home as first finisher in 44th, supported by Dan Gilbody 64th, Michael Aisbitt 71st, Steven Foley* in 81st and Andrew Dalton in 197th.
The ladies team also posted 4 runners, Maria Cook lead the ladies home in 5th supported by Honor Thompson 11th, Tanya Foley 31st and Janet Walker 77th, giving the ladies team 3rd on the day and maintaining 2nd overall in the NWSL.
Elsewhere, 6 travelled to the battered coastline at Southport for Maddog 10k.
